You might also be interested in my background. I am one of a minority (although our numbers are increasing) of people living here in the Phoenix area who was also born and raised here in Arizona. My grandfather moved here in 1909 and my father was also born in the Phoenix area. I attended grade school and high school in the Sunnyslope area of Phoenix. I also attended Arizona State University where I obtained a B.S. in Accounting (1972) and an MBA (1982). I earned my CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation in 1984, my CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation in 1997 and my CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) designation in 2012. Prior to entering public accounting, I worked for Salt River Project for sixteen years including the last seven years as Manager of Financial Accounting. My past work experience includes Internal Revenue Service and Reynolds Metals Company in the Los Angeles area, and Arizona Water Company and Arizona Public Service here in Phoenix. I began my CPA practice in 1998. I provide accounting and tax services for non-profit organizations. I also enjoy assisting non-profit organizations with various other financial management issues. In the past, I have taught accounting and finance classes on a part-time basis at Glendale Community College, Grand Canyon University and Arizona State University. I have provided tax advice as a guest on a radio show on KFNN. Also, I am a former board member and past president of ICM Food and Clothing Bank (also known as Interfaith Cooperative Ministries) near downtown Phoenix. I am currently Assistant Treasurer and Past President of Casa Dunamis International. I am also Treasurer of DSYP Kiwanis Club. Also, I am a member of the Valley of the Sun Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, American Institute of CPA's, Arizona Society of CPA's, Entrepreneurial CPA Network, and New Covenant Lutheran Church. I live in Scottsdale and enjoy walking our dog, Chloe and reading.
